I'm taking a two-week break from The Artist's Way. Why?
Because I scheduled it that way. I knew, before I even started the 12-week course, that I would be working hard with a charity during the Easter school holidays. So I built in a break. A gap. A breather.
I'm so glad that I did.
Instead of beating myself up about not doing enough artwork and not keeping up with the course (which I would have done in the past), I'm focusing 100% on my job for the holidays... and I'm enjoying it.
I'm not rushing about in the mornings trying to cram in morning pages. I'm calmly getting ready for work and then driving with plenty of time to spare.
I'm not stressing out in the evenings because there's not enough hours in the day to get The Artist's Way tasks done. I'm calmly feeding myself and exercising and ticking off little tasks that need doing around the house.
I'm having a holiday from self-employment. By being employed full-time. Strange but true.
