Twelve days? More like twelve weeks!
It is the twenty-fifth of September, exactly three months before the public holiday that causes Britain to go into a bizarre excited-anxious frenzy.
There are mutterings that some people have finished their C... C... December shopping already. I'm not one of them. Are you?
I've started though. This week I bought a 2016 calendar from Tony O'Connor, an equine artist in Ireland. It'll make a fantastic present for someone in my family (shhh, don't say anything).
There are thirteen weeks until C... C... Noel. Twelve if you need to send anything by Royal Mail before Postman Pat hits the sherry. It got me thinking...
How many dog portraits can I draw in twelve weeks? I didn't have to think for long; on average I draw one portrait per week.
So today I hereby announce... (Drum roll please)
...The 12 Dogs of Christmas!!!
(Trumpets, cheers, applause) - Did I say the C-word?
Over the next 12 weeks I will draw 12 dog portraits - no more, no less - and then I will not draw any more until next C... C... Yuletide.
If you are interested in me drawing a portrait of your dog, or a dog belonging to a loved one, please find out more on my homepage.
Every person who successfully places an order for a dog portrait this year will also receive a bonus original A5 sketch by me.
Once I have received 12 orders, I will not be able to accept any more.
I know Teddy, I feel the same way. But - like you - I need to eat, sleep and go for walkies too.
Merry C... C... September!
