A photo popped up in my Facebook feed today; a memory from one year ago. It was of me and my girlfriend standing in snow... on the beach.
This time last year the east coast of England was clobbered by a snowstorm that the press nicknamed The Beast From The East. Sub-zero temperatures. I remember venturing out for short walks, taking a few photos, not being able to feel my hands, and then scrambling back inside to get warm again.
One year on, and we're basking in sunshine. It'll hit 11 degrees Celsius today. I might eat lunch on the beach.
As far as I'm concerned, spring is here.
