As I write this, the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 is rising sharply. Again. It's the second wave we feared and predicted would happen. Unlike the first wave, we're better prepared. However, we're not locking down and restricting social distancing to the extent we did before. The Government are introducing the 'rule of six' from Monday: only six people will be allowed to meet indoors or outdoors. It will be enforced by police with the power of a new law. There are exceptions: schools, workplaces, shops, pubs, organised sports, etc etc. You get the idea. We shall see how effective the new rule is. Personally, I feel that the Government's messages since the crisis began have not been simple or clear enough. And a lot of people have not been taking the virus seriously enough, not wearing face coverings correctly, and not keeping their distance from other people. Many more people will get seriously ill or die. I wish I could stop this from happening. I wish Bink and his lazer gun were real.
